How to Use KWIK-LOK® Asphalt Pavement Primer
KWIK-LOK® asphalt primer and oil spot remover should only be used on sound pavement. If the asphalt pavement is soft or has begun to crumble, the area should be dug out and patched first with UPM® cold mix asphalt patch.
KWIK-LOK® primer can be applied over UPM® cold mix to speed up the surface curing process prior to seal coating.
Using KWIK-LOK® pavement primer before applying INTEGRA-SEAL® asphalt-based sealer or UNIQUE® Asphalt Resurfacer results in the most cost-effective treatment with even longer lasting results.
1. The first step in applying asphalt primer is washing off built-up oils from the pavement surface using dish soap or other non-solvent asphalt cleaners and rinsing the pavement thoroughly with water.
2. Once the surface is dry and the primer has been thoroughly mixed, the pavement primer can be applied directly from the container with a brush, roller, or spray equipment.
3. Allow the asphalt primer to dry to the touch before applying a seal coat or resurfacer.
