Pothole Repair

UPM, High-Performance Permanent Pavement Repair Material is guaranteed to permanently repair potholes and outlast the surrounding pavement. Simply installed in 3 easy steps:

Pothole Pothole Repair Pothole Repairs
Sweep out any
dust, debris, or loose pavement

Removing water from the pothole is not necessary! UPM excels in wet weather and in fact can be installed in water-filled potholes.
Apply UPM into the hole and level off 25% higher than patch depth

If hole is deeper than two inches, install in layers by compacting first two inches, then adding UPM in additional two-inch increments.

Compact thoroughly with tamper, shovel, or driving over with truck tires

That’s it! Pothole repairing is easy and permanent with UPM Cold Patch.

Upon compaction, the aggregate and asphalt interlock making the repair stable enough for immediate traffic. The surface of the patch will cure to the hardness of the surrounding pavement. UPM below the surface will cure at a very slow rate, depending upon the depth of the patch.

UPM vs. other Pothole Repair Products

Most other cold mix products cure very quickly, causing the patch to be rigid and inflexible. Traffic loads, weather, and normal expansion and contraction will cause regular cold patch to fail, as it cannot adhere to the change in roadway conditions. The material will not stay in the pothole.

However, the slow curing nature of UPM allows the patch to move with the pavement during weathering, expansion and contraction, and load-bearing. UPM is engineered to continually “grab” and adhere to the walls and base of the pothole. This flexibility of the material is why UNIQUE guarantees that UPM will stay in the hole, unlike all other cold patch products for pothole repairing.

The coverage rate of UPM equals approximately 10 pounds per square foot at 1-inch depth, so a
5-inch deep, square foot hole would use one 50-pound bag of UPM.
