CPM Frequently Asked Questions

CPM is a commercial-grade, rapid-developing concrete patching material containing 2 Portland Cements, silica fume, active silicates, special aggregate along with a super plasticizer, defoamer and set accelerator.

Remove all loose debris and standing water. Roughen the edges and dampen the area to ensure a good bond with the patching material.

A paddle mixer on a drill is the easiest way to mix the material. Directions say a 5 to 1 mix to water ratio.

Mix may seem dry at first but will moisten with further mixing. DO NOT add extra water and remix or retemper as this will lengthen the set time and also result in a loss of strength in the patch.

Lower temperatures will increase set time so the application should be done above 32º F.

Apply in 2-inch layers, allow patch to harden and reapply as needed.

Working time is approximately 20 minutes and the area can be reopened to traffic in 45 minutes to 1 hour.

After 24 hours the repair can be painted.

If pails are unopened, CPM has an indefinite shelf life. If the pail has been opened and resealed, but kept dry, it has a 1-year shelf life.
